Title: Medicfusion keeps going after the lights go out

We had a strong storm blow through our area last week.  The power was knocked out to the entire small town.  Our battery backup to computers and modem was only good for 15 minutes, enough time to shut down and then lose our internet connection.   It’s a good thing we have cloud based Medicfusion for our EHR and Front Desk.  We utilized two laptops and an iPad…set up a hot spot from my iPhone and we were able to keep going until the power came back on…no loss of EHR entry time, no appointment delays and co-pays collected at time of visit.  Patient’s were amused at working with only light from the windows but pleased there was no lag in their care.  Doctor and staff were happy because we did not need to play “catch up” after the lights came back.  Another positive reason for Medicfusion!!

We had many problems with this service, and got zero empathy and support. Our payments were delayed for so long that many timed out.

I'm glad this site exists as I feel that I have very limited options as to getting the word out about how this company has, and still continues, to give me the runaround.

To keep it short, in the midst of two weeks, we shopped around to multiple different software providers to find our best fit.  After seeing most of them and deciding that this one may be the best, we decided to schedule one more demo with this company to make sure it was what we wanted.  In hindsight, I give a lot of credit to the saleswoman as she really polished up a piece of coal to look like it was all we hoped it was.

Right after signing the application and submitting our startup fee of $1295, we noticed that communication became quite stunted.  After waiting 3 weeks of hearing absolutely nothing, we decided to call to inquire and, upon getting the answering machine, we left a message asking what our next step was.  Our call was not returned but, curiously enough, within half an hour we received an email letting us know that our site was done and we were provided a number for training.  Little did we know that we would be communicating with the answering machine more than anyone else at Medic Fusion for the next month.

At this point we had reached our wits end and decided to cancel our service with them.  As I wanted to make sure that it was received, I called multiple times until I was able to reach an actual person.  I actually tried to call the same extension that we used for our sales rep from before, but after talking to another lady, I found out that the sales rep had been let go shortly after we signed up (weird point #1).  This lady then got my email address and sent me over a cancellation form, informing me that the Chief Finance Officer would get ahold of me in the next couple days.

I filled out the form, emailed it back, and waited to hear from Ruth Campos.  I waited quite some time and the call never came so I decided to call her, learning that she would be out of town "for the next week," but that if I left a message, she would get back to me.  I waited two weeks and received no call.  At this point I emailed Ruth and inquired about a refund, informing her that we had not done anything training and had not used the site at all.  She emailed me back to let me know that a refund would be sent to us within 60 days of the cancellation form date.  Her email was sent on November 11, 2013.

Surprise, Surprise, the refund never came so I decided to call again around January 20th and talked to another gentleman who informed me that the refund would be split into thirds and awarded on the 1st of the next three months.  He also added "you should have been informed of that." (weird point #2)

February 1st came and no refund was honored, so I decided to call back to talk to Ruth.  Turns out, Ruth doesn't work there anymore (weird point #3) so I needed to talk to Cathy who is now the Financial Officer.  After speaking with her several times, she has repeatedly apologized and reacted empathetically to our troubles, even promising us "a full refund at the start of next week" which became three payments over the next two weeks when she didn't deliver when the next week came.

It is now February 10th, we have called and left two messages today, but still have yet to remedy this situation.
LONG STORY SHORT, AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE UNLESS YOU ENJOY EMPTY PROMISES, THE SOUND OF AN ANSWERING MACHINE BEEP OR CUSTOMER SERVICE RUNAROUND AND A REVOLVING DOOR OF EMPLOYEES.

I spent a year with this chiropractic software. It's web-based and they had a catastrophic loss of data 7/2013-9/2013. It was never fully restored and cost many many Doctors thousands of dollars. To date there has been no recourse. The program it's self is very poorly written. I never got the feel that a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic wrote any portion of the program.

So many things are too many clicks deep. Somethings have to be cut and paste. Some menus make no sense. Other Doctors library's of notes are not editable and therefor your stuck with them too. I could go on and on. Every corner you turn on this chiropractic ehr software are things that make you go "WTF?"  I'm serious...Run away fast.  Cheap and poorly designed and headaches ahead, my staff was in tears many times.
