FreeChiro is a product of PracticeSuite Inc
located in Newark, California. They offer a comprehensive suite of practice
scheduling, medical billing and electronic health record software to physicians
and allied healthcare professionals in private practices across 55 medical
specialties. Their software is subscription-based and hosted over the web.
As the name implies, FreeChiro.com offers their base level ONC-certified software at no cost to chiropractors and other providers. They claim that the free version of their software replaces other popular programs such as Medisoft, Lytec and Kareo. After spending a considerable amount of time on their website, we soon realized that most chiropractors would require additional features that are not included in the free version of their software. Their fully integrated system that includes practice management, EHR/EMR and billing costs $149/month per user.
We downloaded the free trial of their software and spent a few hours testing it. We found it extremely difficult, and frustrating at times, to navigate through the interface of their software. The software's interface is poorly designed, non-intuitive and archaic appearing. This can lead to a very high learning curve, especially for chiropractors who aren't very tech savvy. Because the software has been designed to accommodate 55 different medical specialties, we feel that it fails to meet the specific needs of chiropractors when it comes to reporting. Support and training are offered via webinars and video tutorials. To learn more about FreeChiro.com software, visit them on the web. Be sure to tell them that ChiroMonkey.com sent you!
