SOAPe Platinum
Plus is being marketed as the chiropractic community's first and only
ad-supported chiropractic software. The concept of ad-supported software
is nothing new. There are literally thousands of free ad-supported applications
currently being offered by developers for both desktop and mobile platforms.
The concept being ad-supported software is that you get the software at no cost
in exchange for viewing relevant ads which typically appear as banners within
the software's interface. Ad-supported software can be a win-win for both
parties involved, hence it's growing popularity.
SOAPe has been providing software to the chiropractic community since 2003. Over the years, their software has grown from a small, sometimes 'buggy' PDA-based application into a complete practice management suite that now includes scheduling, reporting, chiropractic billing & claims management and paperless office capabilities.
SOAPe Platinum's scheduling module is loaded with useful features found in systems costing thousands of dollars. These include patient tracking, color coded appointment types with customizable time blocks (a huge time saver), multiple provider capabilities, one-click patient summaries, tracking for missed, no-show and cancelled appointments and automated patient appointment reminders. SOAPe Platinum also features a newly updated reporting wizard. All reports are point-and-click, and for the most part, customizable. Most reports take just seconds to complete. In addition to the standard chiropractic reports, SOAPe Platinum Plus now includes three outcomes assessment reports, all of which are quantifiable and comparable to previous and future evaluations. The software lacks a paper copy of these assessments that doctors can print and hand out to patients.
The latest version of SOAPe now includes billing & claims management. Claims can be auto-generated each time a note or report is created, thus eliminating the need to enter patient charges at the end of the day. This functionality virtually eliminates the need for billing personnel. There are several financial reports that can be run at the end of the day, though not as many as some other chiropractic software applications offer. There is also a monthly charge of $85 to submit electronic claims so the claim of 'free' is more or less misleading.
SOAPe Platinum Plus software offers everything you need to run your office more efficiently without the high price tag of comparable systems costing thousands of dollars. Title: Good Product, Terrible customer service

I was drawn in by the promise of a quality free software. The software, while it had some quirks, was workable and easy for me to understand. Some options seemed limited to me, but I made it work. After my 14 day free trial, I didn't immediately have the money to purchase the software. ( You can call it free all you want, but I cant get the software without paying, therefore not free.) I eventually tried to get a product key, sent the email like they instructed and waited. And waited. and waited. Several days passed, and I asked for a refund or discount. They replied saying that I had formatted my email wrong and sent a screen shot of what I sent (exactly as it was supposed to be), essentially lying to cover their own mistake. They responded that they don't give refunds and cant give discounts on a free product. I asked what I was sending money for then, and they responded the money was for administrative purposes. I asked for a discount on that, and they said no. They said that they would do a refund and then cut all communication.
I am glad some one else realizes this product is not "free" and the customer service is horrible. Good product but service department needs training, and some of the management as well. If management has changed, I would love the opportunity to discuss this incident with you. If not, then I urge every chiropractor out there to be wary of buying this "free" product.

Ok, first of all, SOAPe Platnum Plus is not free. They give you a free 14 day trial and then you have to pay a $195 activation fee (for one computer). I tried the 14 day trial and have not activated for a few reasons.
When you can't download the program correctly (which I'm wondering if this happens to everyone) you have to pay $75 to have tech team help you do it. I hated shelling out $ to download a 14 day trial, but I do it.
The tech team is located overseas and they call you at their convenience...extremely frustrating when you aren't in your office 27/7 or during office hours. The tech team, although very nice, could not fix any of the issues I came across in my first day using the pogram. In one of the pages in the new patient exam form (Medical/social history) you can't scroll to fill out the social history because there is not scroll bar.
Also I wanted to be able to print out the Patient Summary to act as a SuperBill. I kept asking the tech team about this and they only said they would ask about it and get back to me. They never did. Even after talking to several different people in the tech team, several different times! None of these issues was resolved despite multiple calls back and forth with the tech team and multiple emails or "ticket" submissions (the only way you can communicate with anyone from SOAPe). When my 14 day trial ran out I submitted a "ticket" saying that I would love to activate my software (which means paying $195) but that I needed to have the aforementioned issues addressed. They sent me back the same automated email that I got in the beginning saying that SOAPe was free and that I could pay for support if I wanted it.
It's unfortunate that such a strong program with great features and relatively minimal problems has such poor customer service. I'm disappointed. I'd rather have a great experience with my free trial, good and effective tech support and customer service, and then pay more for the program.

I have used many different software programs to date and so far I haven't found anything that can top SOAPe software for the price. Everything is laid out really well, it makes doing notes a breeze which all of us really need to do as fast as possible. I mean i'm sure there is better systems out there that offer better support but when I compared the prices I just couldn't justify spending $200 or $300 a month or even $15,000 for some other fancy software. If anyone else is just starting out like me, utilize the advise we learned in school, K.I.S.S. SOAPe gets the job done easily.
